About Mr. Hoefling...
Mr. Hoefling graduated in 2013, with his Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Music from Briar Cliff University, located in Sioux City, Iowa. As a trained operatic tenor and countertenor, he has enjoyed a multitude of experiences. He has spent his career singing and conducting in choral, orchestral, and solo settings throughout the United States and Europe. He relocated to Omaha after graduation and began teaching private voice, piano, trumpet, and horn. Mr. Hoefling was the Assistant Director of Music for the Archdiocese of Omaha, with his primary responsibility being the Archdiocesan Youth Choir. In 2015, he began working towards his Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction through the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Mr. Hoefling is the K-12 Director of Vocal Music for Oakland-Craig Public Schools. He teaches all elementary (K-6) music classes, junior high chorus, high school chorus, and is the director of musicals. Choirs under Mr. Hoefling's direction have participated in Nebraska Vocal All-State, performed the National Anthem in Memorial Stadium, The Century Link Center and the rotunda of the Nebraska State Capitol, performed at NCDA honor choirs, performed at state honor choirs, received consistent superior ratings at music contest, performed community concerts, performed for conference concerts, performed a 25-minute professionally recorded concert at the Holland Center, and performed the first musical in over 25 years Disney's "Beauty and the Beast". He was recently elected NCDA District Representative for District 2 West (responsible for leadership in 14 counties) for the Nebraska Choral Director's Association. In the Summer of 2017, Mr. Hoefling presented at the Nebraska Choral Director's Association. His presentation entitled Building a Quality Elementary Music Program was greatly successful, and was shared with elementary music teachers across the state of Nebraska. In January 2018, Mr. Hoefling gave a presentation Vocalizing the Junior High Chorus: A Guide to ‘In the Middle’ Warm Ups during the Singing Youth of Nebraska Honor Choir in North Platte, Ne. Mr. Hoefling is the former Assistant Conductor for the Omaha Children's Choir. Mr. Hoefling is an active member of the American Choral Director’s Association (ACDA), Nebraska Choral Director's Association (NCDA), and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). He remains an active vocal coach and adjudicator for contests and show choir festivals. Mr. Hoefling loves to SING, golf, read, hike, go to operas, go to concerts, be around friends and family and travel. |
