O-C JH Choir Students: Luke Richards, Truman Wood, Mia Linder, Caleb Sechler, and Angel Henry attended the NCDA Middle Level Honor Choir this past Summer. These five students sang a full concert and prepared over three days. The honor choir was conducted by Dr. Andrew Last from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. I want to begin with how PROUD I am of ALL Oakland-Craig Musicians! You shined SO bright today. O-C Vocal Dept. received 11 Division 1 Ratings and 11 Division 2 Ratings!! I am blessed to teach students who embody our school and community. The amount of dedication, grit and passion they had today was exceptional. I have to accentuate PASSION! Conducting and leading our ensembles today was truly a marvelous experience. I will carry this special day with me throughout my life. I will always hear 'our' sound in my ears and smile, because only we will know about our journey. This is very, very special. Each and every O-C student represented our school with pride and integrity.
I am inspired by your greatness, OC Knights, and was so moved today. We made music! We were a team! Sharing experiences like today reminded me WHY I became a music educator. I love seeing the faces of eager students early on DMC mornings; the amount of blood, sweat and tears that goes into preparing music; and the perseverance of so many throughout the day. You went beyond the notes in SO many ways! From the bottom of my heart, I am humbled to be your leader in choral music making. I am proud of every single performance today. Because, I know, what it took to get there. The courage, stepping out of comfort zones, and focus I witnessed today can't be overstated. I respect and love you all so much. We will move mountains together!! We will grow together!! We will "Let Music LIVE" together!! Thank you for such a special day. My heart is FULL! ❤️🎶 VOCAL RESULTS: Concert Choir-2 (1-2-2) We received three Ratings.
